Have you had dreams feel so real they wake you abruptly? Were they precognitive psychic dreams? What did you do, act on or ignore them? In this blog I will share two psychic dreams with clear dream messages. I discovered there are specific ways to identify psychic dreams which differentiate them from other dream messages. This has enabled me to pay closer attention while awake and adhere to what the dream messages communicated. In a follow up post, I will share dreams that are symbolic and ways to decode them.
Psychic dreams may come through various sensory modalities for example: clairvoyance, clairaudience, and telepathy. Sometimes they are warnings of something ill-fated, and sometimes they are positive prompts of encouragement, as was the case with mine. It is worthy to note, that the Subconscious Mind remains active transmitting information, while we are asleep. The Conscious Mind is still and quiet, allowing dream messages to take center stage.
My earliest and most compelling foretelling dreams happened as I was about to make dramatic changes in my life and career. The first occurred when I was mulling over which Master’s program in Family Counseling, to select. I was living and working in Connecticut at the time. There were two schools I was considering. I called both to gather more information. When I called Bank Street College of Education, in New York City, I felt a surge of energy revving up inside, raring to go. There was a knowing without knowing why, that this was the right school for me. And then I had the following dream.
I was inside a building. Someone was talking to me and said, “You will meet a woman who will become your mentor. She will lead you where you’ve always longed to go. You will recognize her the minute you see her, even though you’ve never met.”
I awoke feeling like I had actually been in New York City. I grew up close to Manhattan, and frequented the city, but never knew or visited Bank Street College. Odd as it may sound the dream message was reassuring. I moved forward with conviction. Within months my application was accepted, I gave my notice to leave my job, found an apartment on the upper west side and moved! On Registration Day I whisked through the doors into a large foyer. The sky seemed to follow me inside. The entrance to the building has a cathedral shaped glass roof, and there is a tree growing from the ground right in the middle of the floor! Curved cushioned benches encircle the tree, where students congregate. It felt like I was inside a holy sanctuary. I waited and wondered. How long should I stay put hoping the phantom woman will appear? Just as I started to leave, a woman came through the revolving doors, like an apparition! She was suffused in sunlight. I got up, walked briskly towards her, and stopped directly in front of her. “Hi, I am Stephanie” I said. “I think I am supposed to meet you.” “Okay darling, I am the new Assistant Dean of the Counseling Department. Are you a counseling student?” …
Ruth became my Counseling Advisor, mentor and dearest older friend. Wherever she was, transformation followed.
The second psychic dream and dream message came upon completing the Master Practitioner level of an intensive training in N.L.P. I was weighing out whether or not to relocate to California, to intern with the Co-Founders of N.L.P.
…I dreamed I was in sitting in a restaurant in New York City with a friend. The waiter approached our table and passed out HUGE menus; like 3 feet tall by 3 feet wide! I couldn’t read any of the menu items. Everything was a blur. It was annoying and embarrassing. Having given us ample time to decide, the waiter returned and asked, “What would you like to order for your meal?” I touched what I thought was the top of the entree selections, the upper right side, and drew my finger slowly down the page. It seemed I was temporarily blind and feeling for clues. My finger stopped, and pointing I said, “I want to order this. I want to order this for my meal!” I re-emphasized. Suddenly my vision returned and these words appeared clearly in Spanish. “Viviente Sueno” it read.
Feeling stunned and flabbergasted, I bolted awake! How could I have a dream message come in a language I barely knew, let alone spoke? I had Spanish classes in Elementary School, nearly twenty years before dreaming this dream. I called a man I was taking classes with, who spoke Spanish. He said, “You are living like a fish out of water seeking a place to be at home within yourself. The translation of viviente sueno is like living dream. I think it means to follow your dream, which sounds like going for the apprenticeship in California.” To this day I have no satisfactory answers regarding how or why Spanish words appeared in my psychic dream, though I started studying a while ago and am working on being bilingual one day.
Here is what I have discovered regarding psychic dreams and dream messages.
- They are short and concise.
- They are intense and startling.
- You wake up alert feeling as if you have experienced something in “real time”
- Your body reverberates with instinctive signals conveying that something is terribly wrong, or wonderfully right.
